ZIZ News...November 5, 2009 - The upper echelon of the Police Force, Defense Force, Customs and Excise, HM Prisons and Fire and Rescue Services met at National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Building where they received a Regional Security System (RSS) sensitization brief.
The joint presentation was delivered by Captain George Harris, Commanding Officer of the RSS Air Wing and Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian Queeley, a member of the Royal St.Christopher and Nevis Police Force attached to the RSS as Director of Plans, Intelligence and Law enforcement.
ACP Queeley in his power point presentation spoke about the role and responsibilities of the RSS and the obligations of the Member States. He emphasized that the RSS is always in a state of perpetual alertness and have achieved a high level of success over the twenty-seven (27) years of establishment Captain Harris highlighted the role of the RSS Air Wing as vital to the regional organization.
He stressed that though the successes and capabilities over the past ten (10) years is of enormous significance to the region funding the operation continues to mount a challenge. COP Mr. Williams has expressed his appreciation and said that the sensitization brief was timely and will serve to facilitate better cooperation throughout the member states.
