Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park

ZIZ News...November 29, 2009 - The Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park will be celebrating its 10th anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage from Saturday 27th November to Tuesday 8th December. 

In pursuance of the CONVENTION CONCERNING THE PROTECTION OF THE WORLD CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE on December 4th 1999 the Brimstone Hill Fortress Natural Park was duly inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a cultural and natural Site deserving protection and preservation for the benefit of all humanity.

The Progamme of Activities include an open day at the Fortress today along with a treasure hunt, addresses in Secondary Schools in St. Kitts and Nevis and Radio TV panel discussion on ZIZ.

The activities will conclude with a Primary School relay, tree planting and a sunset ceremony all scheduled to be held at the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park.
